LOCATION: Day use Area near entrance to Randall Creek Campground at Ft. Randall Dam,

Pickstown, SD in Ihanktonwan Territory

“The Lummi Nation Totem Pole is beginning its journey to the Tarsands of Alberta, which it will reach on . The Lummi Nation have been battling the Northern Gateway Pipeline and have vowed to block this pipeline which will is threatening their traditional lands. The Lummi are signators and allies with the Ihanktonwan International Treaty to Protect the Sacred against KXL and Tarsands, which was initiated in January of 2013. The Lummi, the Ihanktonwan, other bands of the Oceti Sakowin and allies who are landowners, ranchers and farmers will join together in prayer and ceremony to launch the Totem pole on its sacred journey. “
